As an energy healer, I have been exposed to numerous philosophies and alternate healing practices for the past 3+ years. While I have explored everything from yoga to sound healing to access consciousness, working on energy bodies — I have realized that the physical body shows you awareness of all your energy bodies and is the doorway to healing.

Here I talk about how and why you could use your own hands to self-soothe and start the healing process of your physical energy body

Giving & Receiving

Our body in its duality has the art of giving and receiving. As described in certain scriptures and philosophies, the right hand denotes the gesture of giving — masculine, and the left hand represents the gesture of receiving — feminine.

Art of Receiving and Giving

Often times in our culture this is why we encourage giving with our right hand. We also close both together while we do namaste, to avoid exchanging any energies between us, thereby saying hello from a neutral stand.

So next time you offer something try giving it from your right hand, intending to offer positivity and growth to the other. And when you receive, place your left palm out to receive it with gratitude and joy.

Touch & Mudras

One of the biggest organs of our body is the skin. One of the important senses is touch. And one of the best ways to experience this sense is through our palms and fingertips.

Each finger tip represents an element.

As per Yogic scriptures, every fingertip is associated with an element — fire, water, earth, air and space. That’s why we have mudras, that we use to either balance or increase the presence of these energies. And my favourite is touching all together, one of the best balancing effects you can experience — Hakini mudra. Hakini mudra helps stabilize the brain’s left and right hemispheres and brings balance. A great mudra that can be done seated for a minimum of 5 mins to a maximum of 15 mins. And is one of the best mudras to destress and reduce anxiety or depression.

So next time touch everything with this awareness of sensitivity and elements. The food you eat, to the person you love, to the machines that entertain, everything will feel different with this awareness.

Healing Touch — Pain Relief

As a human body, an energetic body, our energies are always radiating outwards. This is why you experience ease when in nature as the space is more, and discomfort in your body when your environment, both external — physical and internal — emotional are clouded.

Every part of your body that is experiencing sensitivity, which we call pain, is trying to get your attention to fix something emotionally in your life. Being aware of it will itself shift intensity and alleviate it. And for those who find it difficult to stay aware of the intensity to shift it, can use the below technique.

Seal the energy and redirect it inwards. Place your palms on the body part that is radiating pain or needs some love. Best done when lying down, or seated. Focus on your breathing alone. Within a few minutes, you will find your body in a state of trans and relaxation. And if you are ready to listen, you will receive an intuitive thought or a dream or a message through any medium about what exactly you need to let go, for the pain to be relieved. The beauty of this technique is that it can be done to others as well.

Let me know if this information helps you in any way. Follow my next blog to understand some of the common pain in our body and what they actually mean.
